Port Saplaya in Valencia is an exposed beach break that only works occasionally, with summer often being flat. The best conditions come with an east-northeast swell and offshore winds from the west-northwest, with some shelter from west-southwest winds. Windswells are more common than groundswells, and the beach break offers both left and right-hand waves. The quality of the surf is not significantly affected by the tide. Even when surfable, it rarely gets crowded. The best month to surf Port Saplaya is September.
