Comandancia in Catalunia is an exposed beach break that does not work very often, with the summer months in particular tending to be flat. The best conditions occur when a south-southeast windswell—which is much more typical here than groundswell—combines with an offshore wind direction from the northwest. The spot offers some shelter from southwest winds and provides both left and right-hand waves that are surfable at all stages of the tide. Even on good days, there are relatively few surfers here, but visitors should take care of the strong rips that characterize the area.
