Sopico in Cantabria is a fairly exposed point break that offers dependable surf and can work at any time of the year. This spot provides a left-hand point break from an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells; while the quality of the surf remains consistent across all tidal stages, visitors should be mindful that it is likely to be crowded when working, and overcrowding can even make surfing hazardous. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with South-southeast offshore winds, with December being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
