Playa de Miono in Cantabria is a fairly exposed beach break that offers reasonably consistent surf, with autumn and winter being the favored seasons. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it delivers good surf at all stages of the tide and is rarely crowded, visitors should still be aware that if a crowd does form, the density can make surfing hazardous. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with South offshore winds, with January being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
