El Arenal (Playa de Valdearenas) in Cantabria is an exposed beach break that offers pretty consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from an equal measure of windswells and groundswells; while it delivers good surf at all stages of the tide and typically sees relatively few surfers, visitors should still be aware that overcrowding can occasionally reach hazardous levels. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with South-southeast offshore winds.
