Tarantulas in Santa Barbara is an exposed beach and reef break that offers consistent surf year-round, with optimal conditions occurring when a Southwest swell aligns with offshore winds from the Northeast. It features a right-hand reef break and works best during Autumn, particularly in February, when clean, rideable waves are most frequent. The spot picks up a mix of groundswells and windswells and can get crowded. Surfers should be cautious of strong rips and submerged rocks.
