Studio Drive (Old Creek) in San Luis Obispo is an exposed beach break that offers fairly consistent surf, with spring and summer providing the most favorable conditions. The break works best when southwest groundswells combine with offshore winds from the northeast. The beach produces both left and right-handers and is surfable at all stages of the tide. It's typically not very crowded, even when the surf is up. Common hazards include rips, rocks, and sharks. The best time of year for consistent, clean waves is during summer, with February often offering the most rideable conditions.
