Rose Avenue in Los Angeles County is an exposed beach break that usually has waves, offering optimum surfing conditions in summer. It performs best with groundswells from the west-southwest and offshore winds from the northeast. The beach breaks both left and right and provides good surf at all tide stages. Despite good conditions, it remains relatively uncrowded. Surfers should be cautious of pollution. The best surf conditions occur when a west-southwest swell combines with northeast offshore winds, with January being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
