Local Knowledge & Surf Guide
Local Knowledge
PV Cove is a semi-exposed reef and cobblestone point break over a sand/rock bottom, offering long, peeling waves that cater to experienced surfers—best conditions typically arrive in winter. Offshore winds from the northeast clean up incoming west and northwest swells, producing mostly right-handers that wrap around the cove’s rocky point with good length and shape. The spot works best at mid to high tide and is generally uncrowded due to its rocky entry, limited access, and localism. Surfers should watch out for submerged rocks, sea urchins, and strong currents. The most consistent clean waves occur in winter, especially January and February.
