Pacific Beach in San Diego County is an exposed beach break with fairly consistent surf, favoring groundswells from the west-southwest and offshore winds from the east-northeast. While summer offers favorable conditions, the most consistent clean waves are typically seen in winter, especially in January. The break primarily offers left-hand waves and works well through all tide stages. It’s often crowded, and surfers should be cautious of the pier, rocks, and strong rips.
