Oceanside Pier in San Diego County is a very reliable exposed beach break that works well year-round, with the best conditions occurring when a West-southwest swell combines with offshore winds from the Northeast. Winter, especially November, offers the most consistent clean waves, found about 58% of the time. The break receives distant groundswells and performs well at all tide stages. It can get crowded during prime conditions, but provides quality surf for all skill levels.
