Oceanside Harbor in San Diego County is a reliable beach and jetty break that works year-round, with the best surf conditions occurring when a West swell combines with offshore winds from the Northeast. Winter, particularly January, offers the most consistent clean waves, found about 50% of the time. The break features both lefts and rights and is best surfed around high tide. Clean groundswells are the norm, but the spot is often crowded and comes with hazards such as strong rips, localism, pollution, and even occasional shark sightings.
