La Selva in Santa Cruz County is a tranquil, semi-exposed beach and right‑point/reef break that delivers smooth, hollow A‑frame waves, especially from late fall through early spring, with December and January typically offering peak surf. It thrives on north to northwest swells and benefits from southerly offshore winds. The break works across most tide levels—though it’s often best at mid tide—and, thanks to its secluded location and long beach access walk, it remains uncrowded and welcoming to intermediate and advanced surfers.
