Penfoul in Brittany is an exposed beach and reef break with fairly consistent surf, although the summer months are typically flat. It performs best with a west-northwest groundswell and offshore winds from the east-southeast. The spot provides both left and right-handers, and uniquely, the surf quality remains consistent regardless of the tide. When conditions are good, it can get crowded, and surfers should remain cautious of rocks in the area. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the spring, particularly in April.
