Les Sables d'Or in Brittany is a fairly exposed reef break that offers quite reliable surf, though the summer months are typically flat. It performs best with a west swell and offshore winds from the southeast; notably, the spot also offers some shelter from westerly winds. The waves are generated by a mix of local windswells and distant groundswells. While the conditions are dependable, surfers should remain cautious of rocks in the area. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the winter, particularly in February.
