Goulien in Brittany is an exposed beach break with quite reliable surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. It works best with a southwest swell and offshore winds from the northeast, receiving an equal mix of groundswells and windswells. The spot provides both left and right-handers and is rarely crowded, though surfers must be wary of dangerous rips. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the spring, particularly in March.
