Baie de Douarnenez in Brittany is a fairly exposed beach and reef break with fairly consistent surf, although it is often flat during the summer. It works best with a west swell and offshore winds from the east, though it also offers some shelter from southwest winds. The spot receives a mix of groundswells and windswells, producing both left and right-handers across the beach and reef. While clean waves are most consistent during the spring—particularly in March—be mindful of rips and occasional crowds.
