Punta Baja in Baja Norte is an exposed beach and reef break with generally unreliable waves, but it can offer quality surf during winter. It works best with a west swell and offshore winds from the east, typically receiving distant groundswells. The break provides both left and right reef waves and is best surfed in winter, with January offering the most consistent clean conditions. The spot is usually uncrowded, even when the surf is good, but surfers should be aware of submerged rocks.
