Punta Marquez in Baja Sur is an exposed reef break offering consistent surf year-round, with both left- and right-hand waves shaped primarily by groundswells. The ideal swell direction is from the southwest, and the break performs best with offshore winds from the northeast. The best conditions are reported when a southwest swell combines with a northeast offshore wind, producing clean, rideable waves. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should remain cautious of potential hazards typical of reef breaks. The most consistent clean surf typically occurs during winter, especially in December.
