Costa Azul in Baja Sur is an exposed beach break known for very reliable surf, especially during summer when conditions are ideal. The break primarily receives distant groundswells from the south–southeast and works best with offshore winds from the northwest, offering left-hand waves. It can sometimes get crowded, particularly when the surf is up. The best conditions occur when a south–southeast swell combines with a northwest offshore wind, with the most consistent clean, rideable waves typically found in summer, especially in May.
