Backwash in Baja Sur is an exposed beach break that rarely works, with summer offering the best chance for surfable conditions. The break mainly picks up groundswells from the south–southeast and performs best with offshore winds from the northwest, producing both left- and right-hand waves. The spot is very rarely crowded, and the most consistent clean waves typically occur during summer, especially in May.
