Xivares in Asturias is an exposed beach break that offers pretty consistent surf, with autumn and winter being the favored seasons. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from an equal measure of windswells and groundswells; while it is best surfed around low tide, visitors should be mindful of potential crowds, rocks, and water pollution when the surf is up. The best conditions occur when a North-northwest swell combines with South offshore winds, with January being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
