Rodiles in Asturias is a fairly exposed river break that offers reasonably consistent surf, with autumn being the optimum season for waves. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it is best surfed around a rising low tide and offers some shelter from east winds, visitors should be mindful of heavy crowds and dangerous rips. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with Southwest offshore winds, with January being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
