Playa de la Griega in Asturias is a sheltered beach break that usually has waves, although it tends to be mostly flat during the summer months. This spot provides a left-hand point break primarily from groundswells; while it is best surfed around a rising low tide and offers some shelter from east winds, it very rarely gets crowded. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with South offshore winds, with February being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
