This popular spot provides both left and right-hand waves driven by an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it performs best around low tide and provides some shelter from Southwest winds, it is likely to be crowded when the conditions are firing. The best conditions reported for surf at La Paloma occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Southeast, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves is the month of October.
