Zahara de los Atunes in Andalucia is an exposed beach break with unreliable waves. The best times to surf here are winter and spring. It receives waves equally from local windswells and distant groundswells, with the ideal swell direction from the southwest. Offshore winds from the northeast help clean the waves, which break both left and right. The surf is good at all stages of the tide and the spot is rarely crowded.
