Playa la Carihuela in Andalucia is an exposed beach break with inconsistent surf, best during winter. The best conditions occur with a southeast swell and offshore winds from the northwest. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves and works best around mid tide. Groundswells are rare here due to limited fetch, with most waves coming from windswells. It’s generally uncrowded, but surfers should be cautious of dangerous rips. The best month to surf Playa la Carihuela is January.
