Playa de Lagos (Toskapi) in Andalucia is an exposed beach break that only works once in a while, with summer offering the best conditions for surfing. The best conditions occur when a southwest swell combines with offshore winds from the north-northeast. Waves here are mainly generated by windswells and the beach break provides both left and right-handers. Surfing is best around low tide. It’s generally uncrowded, but surfers should be cautious of strong rips. The best month to surf Playa de Lagos is August.
