The break offers a mix of groundswells and windswells that produce both lefts and rights, though it is a popular spot that can get crowded and requires caution due to rocks. The best conditions reported for surf at La Playita occur when a Southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast, and the best time of year for surfing La Playita with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is most often the month of January.
