Graveyards in Alaska is a very sheltered beach and point break that only works under rare conditions. It performs best when a west-southwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east-northeast. The wave is a left-breaking point that can be generated by both local windswells and distant groundswells. Winter, particularly January, offers the best chance for clean, rideable surf. The remote location keeps the spot uncrowded, but surfers should be cautious of extreme rips and exposed rocks.
