Current Conditions

POOR
Poor conditions right now. Tiny waves under 1ft with quality 9s ground swell but strong 15kt winds making it choppy Note: winds from E would be better. Might want to wait for better conditions.

📍 Local Knowledge

Waimarie on the North West Coast is an exposed beach and river bar break that has unreliable waves with no particular seasonal pattern. The best conditions occur when a West-northwest swell (a mix of groundswells and windswells) combines with an offshore wind direction from the East. The beach break offers both lefts and rights and provides good surf at all stages of the tide. It is unlikely to be crowded even when the surf is up, though surfers must negotiate dangerous rips. The best time of year for consistent, clean waves is during the winter, particularly the month of June.
