📍 Local Knowledge

Larsen Street on the West Coast is a reasonably exposed beach break that has pretty consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best conditions occur when a West-southwest swell (a mix of groundswells and windswells) combines with an offshore Southeast wind. The beach break offers both lefts and rights, and the quality of the surf is not affected by the tide. It is unlikely to be crowded even when the surf is up, but surfers should watch out for dangerous rips. The best time of year for consistent, clean waves is during the winter, particularly the month of June.
