📍 Local Knowledge

White Rock Point in The Wairarapa is an exposed point break that has quite consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best conditions occur when a Southeast groundswell combines with an offshore wind direction from the North. There is no shelter from cross-shore breezes here, though the spot can handle light onshore winds. Despite being called a point break, the location features a left-hand reef break rather than a traditional point. It very rarely gets crowded here, but surfers should beware of hazards including rips, rocks, and seals.
