📍 Local Knowledge

Tora Point in The Wairarapa is an exposed point break that offers fairly consistent surf, though summer months tend to be mostly flat. The best conditions occur when a South-southeast groundswell combines with an offshore wind direction from the North-northwest (while Southwest winds are also noted as ideal for the area). The quality of the surf at this location is not affected by the tide, making it a flexible option throughout the day. It is unlikely to be crowded even when the waves are good, though surfers should keep a close watch for rocks.
