📍 Local Knowledge
Twin Rivers in Washington State features two point/river mouth breaks that favor a west to northwest swell and work best from low to mid tide. The left, breaking off the western river, is the primary and more popular wave—a soft, Malibu-style left with easy drop-ins, forgiving, rippable walls, and the ability to handle larger swells. S-SE offshore winds provide optimal conditions for the left. The right, off the eastern river, is smaller but more energetic and fast-breaking, making it highly rippable; it performs best with S-SW offshore winds. The most favorable surf at Twin Rivers typically occurs when a WNW swell meets S-SE offshore winds, with the winter months, particularly January, offering the most consistent clean surf.
