Ruby Beach in Washington is an exposed beach break with fairly consistent surf that works best in fall and winter, especially from October through January. The spot receives a mix of groundswells and windswells, with the ideal swell direction from the west to northwest. Offshore winds from the east produce the cleanest waves. Ruby Beach is rarely crowded due to its remote access and steep trail. Surfers should be cautious of hazards such as strong rips, cold water temperatures, rocks, and the sensitive marine environment.
