📍 Local Knowledge

Lyre River in Washington State is a sheltered beach break known for its unreliable but occasionally surfable waves. It works best with offshore winds from the south-southeast and can respond to both groundswells and windswells, with the ideal swell direction from the west-northwest. Although it lacks consistency, it remains uncrowded, even when producing rideable surf. The best conditions typically occur when a WNW swell aligns with S-SE offshore winds, and the most consistent clean waves are usually found in winter, especially during the month of December.
