📍 Local Knowledge

Cape Disappointment State Park in Washington is an exposed beach and jetty break that offers powerful and challenging surf, best during the fall and winter months, particularly from October through February. The spot receives a mix of groundswells and windswells, with the ideal swell direction from the west to northwest. Offshore winds from the east produce the cleanest waves. Cape Disappointment is rarely crowded due to its remote access and the challenging conditions. Surfers should be cautious of hazards such as strong rips, cold water temperatures, and the presence of wildlife.
