Poor conditions right now. Tiny waves under 1ft with mixed swell but strong 17kt winds making it choppy Note: this spot works best at 2-6ft, winds from SW would be better. Might want to wait for better conditions.

📍 Local Knowledge

Little Island Fishing Pier in Virginia Beach is a beach-break located just north of Sandbridge within Little Island Park, offering relatively uncrowded conditions and consistent small-to-medium surf. It tends to perform best in late summer through fall—particularly in September—when southeast or east-southeast groundswells from tropical storms and nor’easters combine with cleaner offshore or cross-offshore winds from the southwest to west. Low to mid tides usually yield the best face and shape, and though waves are generally mellow and approachable, surfers should remain cautious of rip currents, especially around the pier’s structure and shifting sandbars.
