📍 Local Knowledge

Surfside Jetty in Texas is an exposed beach/jetty break that works infrequently, primarily during the hurricane season. It performs best when a south swell combines with offshore winds from the north-northwest. The surf is usually generated by local windswells, though groundswells can occur. The break offers both lefts and rights and is fairly popular, sometimes becoming crowded. Surfers should be cautious of rips, sharks, and jellyfish. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during Winter, with February being the most reliable month.
