📍 Local Knowledge

Quintana Jetty in Texas is an exposed beach break with reasonably consistent surf, especially during the hurricane season. It performs best when an east-southeast swell combines with offshore winds from the north-northwest. The waves are primarily local windswells rather than groundswells, and the break mainly offers right-hand waves. It can get crowded at times. Surfers should watch out for rips, sharks, and jellyfish. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during Winter, with December being the most reliable month.
