📍 Local Knowledge

Port Aransas in Texas is an exposed beach break that only works occasionally, primarily during the hurricane season. It performs best when a southeast swell combines with offshore winds from the northwest. The waves are usually local windswells, though groundswells can occur, and the break is surfable at all tide stages. It can get crowded at times. Surfers should take care of rips, obstacles, sharks, and jellyfish. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during Winter, with December being the most reliable month.
