📍 Local Knowledge

Fergusons Beach on the North West Coast is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Southeast, although the ideal swell angle is typically from the west southwest. The beach break offers both lefts and rights, providing good surf at all stages of the tide. It is unlikely to be crowded even when the surf is up, though surfers should watch out for rips and rocks. The best time of year for consistent, clean waves is during the winter, particularly the month of August.
