📍 Local Knowledge

North Myrtle/27th Avenue South in South Carolina is an exposed beach break with reasonably consistent surf, with summer offering the best conditions. It receives both local windswells and distant groundswells, with the ideal swell direction from the south-southeast and offshore winds from the north. The beach provides both left and right-hand waves and works well at all tide stages. The best surf occurs when south-southeast swells combine with north winds. Autumn, particularly September, is the prime time for clean, rideable waves. The spot is popular and can get crowded, and pollution may be a concern.
