Playa Gigante in Tola Province is an exposed beach and reef break with fairly consistent surf, working best with northeast offshore winds and south-southwest groundswells. The beach produces both lefts and rights, while the reefs also offer left and right-hand waves. Summer is the prime season, with July providing the most consistent clean surf. It is rarely crowded, but rips and rocks can be hazardous.
