Panga Drops is an exposed reef break that offers fast and hollow waves when conditions line up. It works best with offshore winds from the east and solid groundswells from the south to southwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a southwest swell combines with light offshore east winds. The spot yields both left and right-hand barrels and tends to attract more experienced surfers when firing. Surfers should beware of shallow reef, strong currents, and powerful takeoffs. The best time for consistent, clean surf is during the Pacific swell season, especially from May through September.
