📍 Local Knowledge

Colorados is an exposed reef break that delivers powerful, hollow surf under good conditions. It works best with offshore winds from the east and strong groundswells coming from the southwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a southwest swell aligns with light offshore winds from the east. The break offers both left and right-hand barrels and tends to appeal mostly to experienced surfers. Surfers should be careful of shallow reef, strong currents, and sharp takeoffs. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during the Pacific swell season, particularly from May through September.
