Weekapaug in Rhode Island is a semi-exposed beach break with a mix of sand and rocks, offering peaky, well-shaped waves that appeal to intermediate and advanced surfersβbest conditions generally arrive in late summer through fall. Offshore northwest winds groom south and southeast swells, producing both lefts and rights that break over shifting sandbars and near rock outcroppings. The spot works across most tide stages, though mid tide often provides the best combination of shape and power. Crowds are usually light to moderate, with more activity on weekends and during hurricane swells. Surfers should be mindful of submerged rocks, rip currents, and shifting channels. The best surf is typically found in September and October.
