📍 Local Knowledge

Punta de la Raja in Andalucía is a reasonably exposed reef break that offers quite reliable surf compared with nearby spots, especially when east windswells are running. It works best during summer, with offshore winds from the west helping to clean up the wave faces. The bottom is rocky reef, producing both left- and right-hand waves that tend to work best around low tide. The spot is rarely crowded, even when conditions are good, but surfers should be cautious of submerged rocks. The best month to surf Punta de la Raja is August.
