Plage de Temara in Rabat to Casablanca is a reasonably exposed beach break that offers its most consistent surfing opportunities during the autumn and winter months, while the summer is typically flat. It performs best when a strong northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east-southeast. Most of the waves arrive in the form of distant Atlantic groundswells, producing mainly left-hand waves across the sandy shoreline that can become quite punchy and hollow when a solid swell is running. The surf is notably versatile and remains rideable at all stages of the tide, though it often provides the cleanest faces on a rising mid-tide. While it is a reliable spot along this stretch of coast, it is unlikely to be too crowded, usually allowing for a manageable lineup even when the conditions are optimal. Surfers should exercise caution and stay alert for hazards such as strong lateral currents, dangerous rips, and submerged rocks. The best conditions reported for surf at Temara Plage occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the East-southeast.
